About

Yet my grandmother, who was a true example of elegance for me, used to say that “every woman is the greatest secret, a book that is unread”. I did not quite catch the wisdom lying in those words then, but I do understand now. A woman is empowered by nature, when she does what she ought to do, standing in her own shoes.

Philosophy laying behind the women’s designer clothes Segreta London is simple – spreading the word about fashion that gives women power, harmony, peace and mystery. Ancient people say that men differ from women not only physically, but energetically as well – man gets energy from cosmos, woman – from the Earth. They also tractate note that a man can only be happy if he is implementing his dharma (following his nature, and doing what he is intended to do), which is based on our body structure. Being a woman means spreading beauty, love and harmony, a woman radiating all of those is a divine beauty and a vital force of the world.

One of the main attributes of femininity lays in women’s clothing and here at Segreta London we intend to empower it as well. Dress and skirt, having a cone that widens downwards, help women to absorb energy, fertility and wealth and fill themselves with various feminine characteristics. If a woman is constantly wearing trousers, she closes the channel of communication with Earth, stops the movement of feminine energy and feeds her male energy instead. Violation of this delicate energy causes diseases and disagreements. However, if a woman has totally lost her feminine energy, choosing the right clothes is one of the ways to get her femininity back and become happy. Women’s clothing either enhances feminine energy or vice versa. Vedic society used to hold the opinion that in order to feel healthy and happy all of woman’s energetically sensitive points must be covered as well. It would be the best for women to wear longer dresses and if wearing trousers – match them with tunics or longer blouses. Such clothes help women to preserve their innocence, pureness, sexual energy, female attractiveness and vitality. Nature is a huge power therefore it is wrong to go against it. Yet the legendary fashion icon Coco Chanel used to say:

Segreta London style is a synthesis of the Eastern and Western cultures with the air of modernity. Segreta London designer clothes are produced from quality fabrics such as silk, lace, organza ect., decorated by different techniques of needlework. Classical silhouettes approved over time evokes expression, femininity, grace and elegance allowing women to develop feminine energy. After all – that is not something supernatural. It is in each and every woman and we only need to listen to ourselves and learn to live in internal peace creating harmony and balance in the world.

Segreta means “a secret” in Italian.

In addition to the work experience I gained at UAB “Lelija“, during my career I was also involved in a number of other fashion related organizations. I was working as a designer at the Danish enterprise “Lumberman Style“ (Denmark Overview); fashion journalist and reviewer at www.visamada.lt (Lithuania); designer for a dance troupe “Show – makers“ (Lithuania); actor‘s stylist at BTV television (Lithuania); model scout at “Ada Media Works“ model agency (India – www.adamediaworks.com); online shopping “PlanetEves“ (India – www.planeteves.com); stylist of designer clothes at “Karen Millen“ (London), “Giorgio Armani“ (London – www.armani.com) and “Rohmir“ (London – www.rohmir.com). Besides that, upon my stay in India I familiarized myself with an overwhelmingly beautiful and rich crafts of this country – various techniques of needlework, techniques of application and fabric dyeing. I also have a considerable amount of experience working with individual customers as a fashion designer; I am proud to have been a part of a number of fashion shows in my career as well. In 2004 I presented a collection “Necktie transformations” in Baltic Textile and Leather exhibition in Vilnius. In 2006 I returned to Baltic Textile and Leather exhibition to present a collection “Reflection of the past”. During the years of 2007-2013 I was responsible for collections presentation of UAB “Lelija”. Currently I am helping to present „Rohmir“ collections at London Fashion Week held biannually.

Knowledge and energy must come into some material shape, therefore I have recently started my own women‘s clothing line “Segreta London “. This was a result of my enormous passion for designing clothes – it is not just a job for me, it is a source of pleasure, happiness, energy and power which I am willing to share with every single women‘s designer clothes lover as well.

Greta Zlatkute. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life“, – Confucius. I decided to be a clothes designer when I was in a 4th grade and soon after I entered M.K Čiurlionis‘ Art Gymnasium to complete a programme of Pictorial Art. Later on I graduated from university and now hold bachelor‘s and master’s degree in Fashion Design. During my career I got involved in a number of organizations which allowed me to explore a variety of roles and gain experience not only in fashion creation but develop business administration, project management and exhibitions management skills as well. Nevertheless, working as a designer of women‘s clothing brand UAB “Lelija“ (2007-2013, Lithuania – www.lelija.eu) was the key influence on my career. I was responsible there for sketching models / modeling clothes collections‘ and supervising the entire process of it‘s manufacture; analyzing trends; selecting fabrics and various decorations as well as selecting correct basis for new models. I regularly co-operated with constructors and technologists, consulted sewers; selecting fabrics for mass production collections; conducting negotiations with international customers and suppliers.

During my career at UAB “Lelija“ I had a chance to participate in a number of international exhibitions where I was responsible for selecting fabrics and accessories for future collections as well as analyzing trends. Among those there was Tex Word in Paris, Premiere Vision in Paris, Milano Unica in Milano. I was also preapering and presenting UAB “Lelija“ collections for such exhibitions as CPD in Dusseldorf, CPM in Moscow, Industria Moda in St. Petersburg, Baltic Textile and Leather in Lithuania.
